Pre-Service Training
Pre-service training for teacher education is a crucial programme designed to prepare aspiring educators
for the challenges and responsibilities of the teaching profession. This comprehensive training equips
future teachers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to effectively facilitate learning
in the classroom.
The primary purpose of pre-service training is to bridge the gap between academic learning and
real-world teaching experiences. By immersing student-teachers in practical teaching scenarios, this
training ensures they are well-prepared for the demands they will face in their professional careers.
DIETs, as prominent teacher training institutions operating at the district level, play a vital role in
this process. Through their innovative curriculum and teaching methodologies, they offer
student-teachers valuable opportunities for hands-on, practice-based learning. By integrating theory
with field experiences and providing structured practicum opportunities, DIETs enable student-teachers
to develop a deeper understanding of educational concepts and refine their teaching skills.
Furthermore, DIETs facilitate teaching internships at the conclusion of each semester, allowing
student-teachers to gain valuable classroom experience under the guidance of experienced mentors. This
holistic approach to pre-service training ensures that graduates are not only equipped with theoretical
knowledge but also possess the practical skills necessary to excel in the teaching profession.
NAS SURVEY 2021
The National Achievement Survey (NAS)-2021 serves as a pivotal nationwide initiative aimed at evaluating
learning outcomes and the overall health of the education system in India. This extensive survey,
conducted on a large, sample-based scale, encompasses the entirety of the nation.
The insights gleaned from NAS-2021 are invaluable, as they provide a comprehensive understanding of the
current state of education across various levels - national, state, district, and even within individual
classrooms. By analyzing the findings of this survey, policymakers, educators, and stakeholders gain
valuable insights that can inform the development and implementation of education policies and
strategies.
The ultimate goal of NAS-2021 is to drive positive change by enhancing learning levels among children
and fostering qualitative improvements within the education system. Through its rigorous assessment and
analysis, NAS-2021 plays a crucial role in shaping the future of education in India, ensuring that every
child has access to quality learning experiences that empower them to succeed.
Foundational Literacy and Numeracy
The significance of early learning is underscored in the National Education Policy 2020, which
emphasizes the urgent need to attain universal foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) in primary
education and beyond by 2025.
The primary objective of the national FLN mission is to ensure that every child possesses the essential
skills to read and comprehend texts, write with comprehension, and cultivate a strong foundation in
numerical concepts, mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning. This mission places a strong
emphasis on the holistic development of children, recognizing that proficiency in foundational literacy
and numeracy is fundamental to their overall growth and success.
Ek Prashikshu Ek Pravesh
Through this scheme, all BTC/Deled trainees will actively engage in reaching out to out-of-school
children aged between 6 to 14 years, ensuring their enrollment in the nearest primary school on an
annual basis. By implementing this initiative, more than 1,500 out-of-school children within the
district will be seamlessly integrated into the mainstream education system.
The overarching implication of this scheme is profound, as it aims to facilitate the enrollment of each
out-of-school child, thereby bridging the educational gap and promoting inclusive education. Through
collaborative efforts with the Basic Education Department and the School Chalo Abhiyan, this initiative
seeks to address the critical issue of access to education, ensuring that every child has the
opportunity to receive a quality education and unlock their full potential.
